Introducing Chancellor-Elect Dr. James R. Martin II. James R. Martin II, Ph.D., was elected as the 13th chancellor of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University on June 21, 2024, by a vote of the University of North Carolina System Board of Governors, following his nomination by UNC System President Peter Hans. Chancellor-elect Martin begins work in the new role on August 15, 2024.

You made a life Changing decision for yourself when you without hesitation said "YES!!" to our offer to be the head brutha in charge! For that, we are most grateful! It, indeed, gave all of us listeners insight I to your life , inclusive of your background and your interests! I’ve been at A&T for about two years now, & I’ve never got to formally meet Chancellor Martin (although I had a chance once), but seeing all of his accomplishments & his service to the University is so inspiring and makes me proud to be an Aggie. A & T has always been a premier educational institution!!! This is one of the reasons the governments are merging HBCUs with PWCU. We must accept our greatness w/o the sanction of those we feel our mportant. What happened to all of the African American professors that built the Engineering and Math programs???
